Rubies Class
Welcome to Rubies Class.
We are made up of Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 aged children. Our teacher is Mrs Burgoyne and our Teaching Assistants are Miss Kelly and Miss Batowski. All the adults that work in our class pride themselves on being warm, friendly and approachable and we know we can go to them with any problem.
We enjoy learning in Rubies because we have fun. Our Literacy topics are always exciting and based around our own interests to keep us engaged and enthusiastic.
Our current Literacy topic is ‘Chocolate’ and we will be tasting, testing, rhyming and exploring the world of chocolate to help us write some amazing poetry.
To help us with our maths fluency, we do ‘Maths Ninjas’ four times per week where we answer some quick calculations with the chance to earn a ninja star. We love it when we’re a maths ninja because we get to give a big ‘hiiiiiiiyaaa!’.
We have lots of interesting areas in our classroom that help us learn. We have a role-play area that gets changed into something new every half term. We have a cosy, well-stocked book corner, construction toys for our future engineers, lots of craft and art supplies for those who enjoy being creative and full access to the outdoor area.
We are encouraged to be active learners in order to fulfil our potential and we do a super job of caring for one another while we learn.
All are welcome to come and pay us a visit here in Rubies Class and we love welcoming new children and sharing all our exciting learning opportunities with them.
